Getting autographs/meeting the players

Where/when is the best time for this?
Going to take my boy down to the training ground in half term and to the FA Cup game and just wondering where is the best place to be to let my boy see some of the players and get autographs.
He is absolutely West Ham mad and would love to see some of the players up close.
I know Huffers could probably help out and surely a few others could too.

Training ground - players come out between 12-3. Some stop, some don't.
Match day at stadium - they come in by coach but I believe they sign autographs after the game when going to their own cars.

I took my boy down the training ground in the Oct half them and a lot of the players who signed previously no longer stop.
Apparently there was a bit of an incident with a player who stopped and got some grief so a lot decided not to bother anymore. This was the story going round among the Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and fuck know else professional autograph sellers but they wouldn't let me in on the secret.

There was a french guy at the training ground begging Alex Song for money and wouldn't let him go past apparently.

How does that work? Do they drive to the stadium, get the bus to wherever the coach picks them up, then get the coach back in?
This is all most confusing...

Cheers Huffers. Nice to know these things.
My view is that they should allow junior STHs in to the car park at Chadwell Heath one day per half term from 12:30. That way the young fans can get their autographs and fans of other clubs looking to earn a few bob get fucked off.
The last couple of times I've taken my boy there has been an old boy there who doesn't even know the players. Every time a car comes out he's "who's this?"
Also makes me laugh listening to the pros going on about the logistics at every club and what hotels teams stay at for various games but trying to ensure that they don't reveal any secrets. Like I'm going to bother going up to the Royal Garden hotel every time Liverpool or Everton are in town or trying to follow them on their pre match walk around the park to get autographs.
